Caitlin - what a labour of love

SS Keshi and Bahraini naturals ! - what is the central (darling) pearl ?

think the 'storyboard' is great too...

Thank you, everyone.

I've worn the alHashimi necklace a lot since August. It originally had all the peals lined up like Madeline and her fellow orphans in the convent. two by two according to size....(wasn't Maddy the smallest one?) I got tired of the look because these are not tame, convent raised pearls! They are wild little things and not all that perfect, compared to some. So I decided to let them run wild, in good company, of course!

Personally, this necklace is what I like to wear. This is so me, Jeremy and Hisano were laughing! It makes my mouth water and the obedient orphans didn't!

The center pearl looks like a strawberry. It is vintage. Jeremy thinks it was worked on the back-maybe it was sliced off- not the front, which is the part that looks like a strawberry. Three guesses so far, all freshwater! I fell in love with the little strawberry. I just love pearls with character and the maker found the character of this one! It is almost elf-like, as well. A profound little pearl!

I knotted between every one. I used 8lb. PowerPro. Now I can wear it heavily, then soak it in shampoo water with a few drops of Biz when the thread gets dirty.

Oh yessss,Caitlin.... way to go... Love the new look of old pearls....

Beautiful necklace Caitlin. 200 knots? That is a lot of work but the end result looks worth it. I hope you bring it to the RUCKUS this summer.
