The art of opening and closing a necklace - managable clasps

Hi DK,
I am glad it was of use to you. :)

Absolutely!

It's difficult to get hold of White Gold findings in the UK, and I do not want to use silver as it tanishes. Just need to save up for some findings now :)

DK :)

I'm getting some white gold in. It should be on it's way now, but I can't remember if I ordered just what I need or a surplus. If you pm with what you want I can maybe track it down

.......... I noticed lately that when people wear 2 strands, they let them look sort of haphazard (maybe not the right word???) where the strands don't lay flat and neat in place ( one strand is not completely nested inside the other). See Ashley Judd here:

In my opinion elegance is when things are worn with a pinch of desinvolture... so I like the haphazard of her wearing

Regarding this, quote :
"Cliclasp has very nice clasps, unfortunately rather expensive " unquote

One has to get rid of the idea it is a clasp (I had to get rid of myself ;)...), it is rather a way of wearing a removable center piece, so the price of the centerpiece overcomes the price of the finding, plus having the fun of composing oneself jewelry as an extra ...

Hi;
I agree with Jeremy the Lobster clasp with an appropriate sized attachment ring [figure 8] . Some Lobster clasps open when you try to pass the attach ring into it. Very easy to use.

You could also go to www.riogrande.com and there to your hearts content ordering gold findings, sterling findings, gemstones etc. Ask them for their "Findings Catalogue", they will send it for free. Once you order you have to order for at least 100 USD (that?s not a problem with gold prices these days) but they have really lots of very elegant and stylish findings.

For DK and others,
I just found this website and have no experience with them www.findingking.com.

If I am not mistaken, they are also an eBay seller, and I have purchased from them before, white gold toggle bracelet with a heart tag, and white gold chains, and am happy to buy from them again.

I would probably buy another white gold toggle bracelet from them (if they have one in 8in long), and add the pearl charms myself :)

That's a thought, I could make the drops with small lobster clasps and make them into interchangable charms :D

Can't remember seeing that many white gold findings on their eBay shop though.

DK :)

Finding King is an excellent source on eBay. I've never been disappointed by them. ;)

They have a big website Blaire. I think (though without checking I'm not certain) that things are cheaper ordered through the website (no ebay fees for them to pay)

Hi Jerin,

Cathy suggested that one to me, and I have applied an account with Rio Grande and got the log in details today :)

Their website is a lot easier to navigate than their eBay shop!
