Tahitian Hoop Earrings

Well I'm suprised with the amount of feedback, thanks a lot guys and girls!

The hoops are 14kt white gold and they do close in on themselves so you can't get poked them by.

If we do run them as a regular product I'll let you guys know and make a special offer for PG'ers.

Stay Tuned!

Joan - I love those hoops you have (and the pearls with them). Do you mind sharing where you found them?

Hanaleimom, yes all good ideas.. I would do the stud with the pearl as a dangle now. It's hard to keep the diamonds sparkling without damaging the pearls.

We live and learn. I wouldn't mix diamonds and pearls again due to the cleaning issue. Unless someone can make a good recommendation.

I'll add a third vote for being more interested if the Tahitians are baroques... in my very limited experience it seems the better colors and "rainbow of fruit flavors" is in the baroques, and I find them more interesting. Plus, more affordable, which is always good for us folks who can never stop at just one purchase...

I'm still not clear on how they close. Can you show a photo of the earring back?

Any kind of snap-bar or hinged huggie hoop would be vastly preferable to the kind where you have to twist open, put on your earlobe sideways, then turn into the ear hole. Sometimes it can be difficult getting it into the opposing hole, as well. The wire is awfully thin to support a heavy earring and can be harder on your ear. Yes, GemGeek has delicate earlobes!
:D

I have the same problem, jerin, but I just wear the earrings anyway. I have considered having them re-pierced, but the holes are in a nice position on my ears so if I were to re-pierce, they would be too high or too low. Sigh - if only the person who pierced them had been a bit more conscientious...

If the hoops are small enough, the angle isn't as obvious as it is with the large hoops.

I have a solution for this. I wear clear textured ear patches on the back of my ear to support the weight of earrings. They're also good if your hole is torn. All you have to do is aim the earring post at an angle in the opposite direction when you pierce the backing and then they sit the right way. In my case, only one doesn't sit forward. If your holes sit lower than they used to, you aim it upward and they sit nice and high. When I wear my giant dangle ssp earrings, I use two patches.

They also prevent damage from holding the phone between your ear and your shoulder. "Lobe Wonder" is the product.

These plastic earpatches: are they the ones with a metall in the middle where the post is put into or is this something new altogether?
Please show us a pic, thanks Blaire. It does sound very interesting if you can use it when having huge and/or heavy earrings.

Has this "lobe wonder" a special internetsite, where we could look at it?

Everyone who sells earrings should sell or recommend these patches. ;)
