Suggestions First Hanadama pearl necklace

Good morning to all,
I am a newbie in the world of pearls and I joined this forum recently to get more information and insight
After some research, I decided to buy a Hanadama pearl necklace as my first pearl jewelry.
As I learned after days of research is not that easy to find a seller of this kind of strand with Hanadama certificate from PSL in Europe, It was just possible to buy it from extra UE, but in Italy taxes are crazy and sometimes your item can get lost at Custom. So this one was not a good option.
I found the company Gemperles which is one of the only companies that provides Hanadama necklaces with PSL certificate in Italy without any other surprise Custom surcharge.
After 3 weeks of waiting, the necklace finally arrivedyesterday. I was really thrilled and happy as the pearls have the luster I was expecting and the whole necklace was really well-balanced.
I then checked the PSL certificate, it looked authentic but then I counted the pearls: 53 in the picture certificate, while in my strand there were 50.
Upon asking the company for an explanation, I was told that the strand of pearls is sent with standard measurements to PSL and that the pearls are then removed to adjust them to the required size. They offered to send the 3 missing pearls at a discounted price as this can be useful in case one pearl gets damaged and also claimed that the certificate still remains valid. Of course, I wrote to PSL to confirm the validity of the certificate in this specific case, I am waiting for their answer.
The company also told me I can get my money back.

Did someone have a similar experience? Is it normal practice to customize the neclace after the laboratory tests?
Do you know ay sellers in Europe?

When we sell Hanadama strands, we do shorten them if a client asks us to, but the loose pearls come with the strand, keeping the certification intact.

I ordered a 42 cm strand, in the website it was specified that 42 cm length comprehend the clasp. I checked the length and it is correct.

It was not specified that the certification is done on a specific "standard" measure (45 cm) and if a shorter measure is required there would be misalignment between the certificate and the strand, obviously, I would have asked for the 45 cm.
I believe it was not done to scam me, but as a Client, I would like to be informed, since they asked 250 euros just for the certificate.

I really like the pearls strand, the luster is really good and the orient is very homogenous. I don't really know whether I should buy the missing pearls or just send the necklace back.

This makes me feel better.
The vendor was really nice and tried to solve and explained to us their process, as mentioned before I think they were not trying to fool me, but there is for sure some missing information on their website.
I wore the strand yesterday and I am wearing it now, and the necklace is just amazing, the tone, the colours and the luster is just WOW.
I think I will jus t keep it and buy the missing pearls to preserve the hanadama certification.

What a beautiful post and I'm so proud of you for reaching out on this forum to all these amazing experts regarding your pearl purchase. I personally think you are absolutely beautiful in your pearl necklace. Such a sweet smile that radiates confidence and joy. Enjoy your pearls and wear them often! Perhaps you can use the extra pearls to make some matching earrings. They might be willing to send you 1/2 drill matching pearls for that purpose. It doesn't hurt to ask. Findings for simple stud earrings are reasonably inexpensive and they can be mounted with a tiny dab of gel super glue. Unless there is some other type of glue these experts suggest.

I was thinking to make a simple bracelet and a pair of earings. Since the pearls have already two drills I was thinking something like the pictures attached.
I have a little shop nearby home with a girls that makes handmade jewelery and wanted to ask her, it would be easier I think for measurment customization etc
Do you have any other desing idea ?

Great Idea. And yes, the dangle earrings are always a good idea if you have a pearl that is already drilled through. I found some 14K gold stud plugs on Etsy as well as some diamond pearl plugs from a company that makes findings for jewelry(see link below). The little plug gets glued at the bottom of the pearl and the top hole is attached to the dangle earring or one that fits sung against the earring. Here are some I've made.
I don't have any long chain dangle earrings like the ones you pictured above but that's because my hair is curly and I'm afraid anything that dangles that low might be caught in my hair! @MotherOfPearlTrumpet thank you for posting that diamond peg, a very uselful little finding! I have a low cost alternative that I use for full drilled pearls sometimes, I just cut a bit of head ball pin and glue it on. Your solution is much more glamorous and I will definitely be ordering those pegs ;-)

@eolian pearls I've glued a portion of a head pin in the bottom of a a pearl to fill the hole too, but when one fell out of a gift I'd given someone I knew I had to find another alternative. I offer free restringing and repairs with my gifts. Hahaha.
