South Sea Finest!

?tightness of the nacre as they call it?
Heck, we could have shortcut all those endless discussions about orient vs iridescence. T/N it is! (Also works well with my recent awareness of ammolite?nacre compressed by 75 million years of geologic pressure?)

The T/N designation is really rather brilliant- and with those pearls you can definitely tell how the compression of the crystalline nacre layers translates into absolutely stunning luster.

While that particular attribute is identifiable by the naked eye, I wonder if there is a scientific measurement that could be done with pearls of this quality. Truly blown away! :cool:

Interesting, that T/N would still be subjective, to a certain point, or by comparison with lesser pearls? Like Ashley, it seems there could be a scientific measurement of some sort---------- When I shop for pearls I use my readers, 3.50x very helpful to separate out the better pearls---especially with a big mix of quality---------just my old eyes, I guess!

Yes tell us about the final clasp, as Paspaley is well known for beautiful eye catching /centerpiece clasp.
I am very impatient to see which one has been choosen.

I prefer the first clasp, but it doesn't fit very well, does it. Too bad. I would be so tempted make a mystery clasp from the two left over pearls. But then I'd say, "nah," and have to start all over.

Certainly hope they do a unique colored precious gemstone clasp that can be worn in the front or side, not another boring diamond clasp---------:D:D;)

That's an idea, inter-changeable clasps, to be worn in the front!

I love hearts, and would love to have one each of diamond and raspberry-coloured stone like ruby or spinel of about 5ct :p :D, simply set in a pave set diamond halo.

The much cheaper option would be 2 interchangeable hearts of pave set diamond or raspberry-coloured stones :D

DK :)

Interchangeable clasps ? that's just what I am found of and specialized in:
- versatile clasps to be worn in front of the necklace ,
- or 2 chokers linked with 2 interchangeable clasps, to make a rope with,
- or invisible clasp set in the biggest pearl of the strand, then worn with a rubber necklace : so casual and elegant.
I soon get a 11 mm diamond ball clasp for a customer, that I shall post, as well as a 15 mm golden South Sea pearl set in yellow gold to match with a 4 strand golden keshis.
But all you can imagine can be interchangeable clasp : from diamond and ruby clasps to onyx or pink quartz.
Just look fantastic with a keshi strand, or a cord or a baroque strand or perfect round ones, and so .....

Well, still impatient to see the Paspaley/Jeremy final choice...

Now THAT is just my style!

How about persian turquoise? and Italian coral, same thing! They look fab with pearl!

And Jade and Lapis look fabulous, as well as coral and turquoise ! IT flashes, but soft pastel colors such as aquamarine, are very nice too.

I agree with Jeremy about white autralian pearl, "showing a true rainbow effect from silver to rose", I have a 14,8 mm one.

And got a pair of 16 mm, these australian white ones are truly incredible, though FW highest grad can be beautiful....but australian got something really magic in the glowing.

About the TN specification, I did not find any clarifying info on Paspaley website. Can someone be more specific?

I like the Autore items : Five S's: Shine, Surface, Shade, Shape and Size.

What about an australian grading system? though the different grading charts (China,Tahiti) make things more difficult for customers...

So what is the final choice for the clasp, for your wonderful Paspaley strand ?
Let is know, we are all so impatient...

Jeremy: Update, please. I had my own epiphany a couple of days ago. The frostlink clasp. Take off the post, hang a diamond dangle (maybe a ball?) where the post would have been. Suitable for front or back wearage (wearage: from the Pandacon dictionary of made-up words).

Anyone who can afford that necklace, will only want a magnificent clasp -- probably custom made in platnum with stones.

~~~hubba hubaa~~~
How do you say it ?
Like a cat on a hot tin roof..... when do you show us the final choice?
