Loose metallic freshwater pearls in shell

Enjoy,
Blaire

At the time of the photos, Hyriopsis Schlegelii/Hyriopsis cumingii, a combination of the Biwa Pearly Mussel and the Triangle Mussel, which the Chinese called the Leisure Mussel. It's clear that they continue to refine their operations and have probably bred these mussels to continue to improve their hardiness and the characteristics that are most desirable. But also to accept larger and larger implants. The size of the shells are massive.

Wow...all the colors & overtones...inside of the mussel is glorious....Wish pearls would look like that.

They are a victim of selling by weight, mostly, but can be found in Hong Kong.

I still have my secret wish list when it comes to metallics...I might just be too picky for my own good, that or I really dig purple a little too much.

Mostly from one supplier now, who is expensive. There are a few really horrible ones floating around from other suppliers but I'm not even sure they are being grown any more. I must look in September

Please let us know. I have souffle pearl earrings, and would like a pendant. I like the size without the weight, and the lustre, of course.
