Show us your Tahitians

BAS your rope is going to be so beautiful!!! Congrats and enjoy :D

Somewhere there is a fabulous photo of Sarah wearing mostly skin and pearls. Maybe someone can find it? :)

Are you referring to post #35 of Pattye's "100 inch rope challenge" thread? Those pictures are a show-stopper!!! I'm not sure how to reference it here, but worth looking up!

YES! I wish I had the courage and figure to pull that off!

Okay, my first Tahitians ever just arrived! They definitely did NOT look the way I had anticipated they would. I had thought the pearls would be a little larger, darker than what was pictured, and have a deeper turquoise glazed look. When I opened the box, I was delighted with what I saw, though they are so different than what I had pictured in my mind's eye. The pearls are smaller, each one is absolutely charming, and they are what I would call a cold steel powder blue. Downright frosty! Perfect for summer! Here are three shots in real life, and a selfie with them tripled ("body shot" another day...). Unfortunately, they look darker in my pictures than they do in real life, too. A thank you to Jeremy for putting together such a nicely matched, lovely strand which I will enjoy for many many years to come:

Now that is one serious necklace! I think your neck will appriciate the pearls not being larger :) As for the colour - that must be so hard to imagine, but didn't you ask for them to be on the lighter side?

I am profoundly jealoux. Anyone else got this?

KarinK, I did indeed ask for lighter pearls, and I am not complaining! This thread was started to compare Sellers' photos of Tahitians to Buyers' expectations. I had assumed all Tahitians are darker in real life than what is shown on the professional photographs. In my case, this did not prove to be true. This strand is mesmerizing to me. It is sitting in front of my keyboard so I can admire it and in the changing light it is showing pinks and greens. At this moment, I wouldn't call it powder steel blue. Jeremy said they are chameleons and here they are -- showing me their tricks.

I am so in love with your rope!!!! I can't wait for more photos. They're incredible.

Try take them out at twilight... :) The colours pop like crazy.

A few of my favorite pieces taken today near Hanalei Bay (iPhone): Margo La Perle de Tahiti (Was Tahiti Pearl Market in Honolulu) bracelet and pendant. The strand is one of 2 from PP: "loot" pearls from 2008. Pix taken as they are, no cropping or adjustment. Pix on towel are indoor near window. The others are in bright sunlight at a small shopping strip.

Just mention Tahitians, and Cathy, the Tahitian Pearl Princess shows up! What a thrill to see your gorgeous pearls, as always!! You've really caught the extreme colors and overtones with your photos! Sounds like you are on vacation? Is the bracelet on elastic? If so, may I ask what you used?

Hanaleimom -- what gorgeous colors, and what a nice display! I think the sand shot is superb.
