Last night after work I took Pattye's advice and strung a fine wire through the replacement pearl and was able to attach it securely into the back of the clasp. The wire is almost invisible. Such great advice! Thanks again Pattye.

Just a hunch, so glad you worked it out and buys you time until you decide to do a more permanent fix.
