September Pearl Paradise Tahitians

Newberry's strands are done. Here are a couple of photos. They look amazing in person. The gold overtones are very evident in person. Clever newberry to grab those.

Newberry's silver white Tahitian strands

Cathy - Can you help rotate, please? I'm on the road so I'm using my phone, which is not as smart as it thinks it is.

BTW, the three strands of the tiniest white Tahitians are still there. Two of them match, and are already strung, so I tried them on. Lovely, but a bit too uniform for my taste, especially with those free forms right there. A real find, because, as has been said, these whites were collected as a favor to Jeremy. Once they are gone, they are gone, not likely to be collected like this again.

Thanks to Pareltje, who got to the "right side up" before me :) WOW, is all I can say, Red ... both to your strands, and to the sneak peek at Newberry's!!! Just gorgeous :)

Ooh, I think I found one more! Just had to see the Fiji in there right side up :)

Thank you, Cathy.

BTW, the two tiniest white Tahitian strands are there at the bottom of the photo with Jeremy. They still have the bubble-wrap covering the clasps, before I ripped it off to try them on. The white strand in front is one that I bought. The dark strand is my own tiny Kamoka Tahitians that I bought from Sarah several years ago.

One more thing. I asked for the white Tahitians to be strung on Beaders Secret, so there will be a delay for it to be ordered.

Red, it looks like you had a great trip to PP! I look forward to seeing your new pieces completed.

I'm enjoying all the lovely new necklaces, ladies.

When I was at PP with Newberry and lmgarden (which was so much fun), I came very close to buying the 2 blue-white Tahitian strands that comprise one of Newberry's new ropes. The color of those strands caught my eye immediately. In the end, after holding several strands up to my neck, we decided silver looks better on me. The blue-white looks better on Newberry's darker skin.

I bought 3 strands of 8-10 mm silver drops with blue and pink overtones. (I was so distracted with shopping, I forgot to take pictures of them.) They will be strung as one 42" rope and one 41" tin cup with aquamarine rondelles. The project is on hold until Hisano can find the aquamarines at one of the upcoming gem fairs.

I hope you don't mind, Cathy... I wanted so see the strands too. In the right position

I keep going back to look at the white Tahitian strands, still undecided in part because of the extra costs of getting them to Denmark (add 25% plus fees).

Also I can't figure out which ones would suit me best. Some are labelled merely as white. Some with rose or blue overtones. And which ones looks grey rather than white (think I would prefer white)? With so many people here having seen them in real life, is there any advise? My skin tone is that of a pale red head.

The overtones are very subtle so even though it lists colors like rose and blue mostly you just see white with just hints of another very pale color that shimmers over the surface of the pearl.

If you any other type white pearl which overtone looks best on you. Choose that one. You also might use the chat function on their website. They are very good at helping you choose the right ones. The white Tahitian strands are very special so don't miss out.

I wish the gold ones had still been there... :) I love gold, even hints of it. And I don't know what overtone looks best on me. We'll see...

I have the blue Vietnamese akoya, Kamoka Tahitians, baroque white akoya - and all I wear these days are the cotton chords with a couple of small, dangling Tahitians and one on a leather thong. So it is easy to get carried away when first pay check is looming on the horizon but may be just an impulse.

If you have the baroque white akoyas the white Tahitians are sort of like that but not exactly because they are different kinds of pearls. I think your best bet for choosing is to do a live chat with Pearl Paradise. They are trained to help you choose the right pearls.

I should have mine soon ;)

Of course I don't mind, Pareltje! Happy someone was paying more attention than me :) It just drives me crazy when I can't see something rightside up that I NEED to see LOL ...

I should have mine soon ;)

According to the tracking info mine are supposed to be here tomorrow. I'm betting they don't make it until Friday, since they aren't even to Atlanta yet (yes, I'm stalking the tracking info!) and it usually takes a whole day from the time they hit Atlanta. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
