Bought these recently as an Anniversary present

They were quite difficult to photograph, as they are very senstive to light and background - but here is my first attempt....

An excellent choice! I love seeing Sea of Cortez pearls in England!! All ten of you SoC pearl owners must be the luckiest pearl wearers in England! Like winning a lottery only more rare.

Thanks !! there is quite a story to these pearls, as they were a private commission

Douglas selected the pair, way down in Guaymas, then they were shipped to PP in LA where Jeremy and Mia drilled and set them, then onto Tampa, Florida - all this was against a tight time-line, so FedEx played a big part !! - then finally onto the UK, where they now live......

Not for me me (but my wife absolutely loves them, so all's well that end's well)

Here are some more pics of the pearls against a lighter background - amazing difference - in reality, the pearls are a combination of the two sets of photos

Oh Alex,

Fabulous Job with these earrings! What a wonderful story! Such lucky wife!!!

Cheers

Ash

I'm so glad she loves them! Two round Cortez pearls that match are among the rarest cultured pearls in the world. I'm so glad they are with someone that can truly appreciate them for what they are!

Thanks !! but the really BIG Thank-you goes to Douglas, Jeremy and Mia who were brilliant - responsive, patient, and incredibly thorough, not to mention putting up with zillions of emails from me - all whilst running their own buisnesses at a very busy time of the year

My wife simply adores these earrings - actually I think I'll call them 'jewels' - she is a bit of a 'Pearly' herself, so when she opened the present and saw the Cortez shell logo on the pouch, her face was a picture I will long remember

I still can't quite believe it all came off, as it was a bit of a tall order, but it did :)

Thanks again so much, Douglas, Jeremy and Mia

Alex, I just realized that you get to look at them more than your wife does, because she'll be wearing them all the time :)

And thanks for recording this rare event here! I am SO HAPPY that we have photos of this rare pair! Long may they be seen on this thread.

That gold has a smokey look. What kind of gold?

Sea of Cortez Earrings

I think the smoke - mist - mystery, comes off the pearls themselves - the setting is yellow gold - I was after Rose Gold, but it was not available with the Allure (diamond) setting

Here is a pic of the pearls before they were drilled and set (this is a proper PP photo !)

Those pearls are gorgeous. I've been asked "How many pairs of those earrings do you have?" because the color shifts in different light. I'm sure your wife will get a lifetime of use out of them. Nice job!

borrowed a better camera and had another go

but still can't quite capture these elusive pearls....

Oh, they are beautiful. I do have some Cortez pearls myself but yours are real stunners. Love everything about them and the colour is fabulous. Lucky lady.

Amazingly beautiful!

Viva Nature and Nature's Helpers!

It is difficult to take photos of our pearls...the light must be natural to bring out the best look, and winter light is not the best. It was hard to convey the color of the pearls as well because they shift their color. They are tricksy!

But I am really happy to know that Alex is another satisfied customer :) and we have to thank Jeremy for helping us find the right pearls for her special occasion.
