I realise I should have come to this site first...hindsite 20/20. I purchased a strand of these pearls online. It is a pretty good image, maybe a tiny bit blury. I got them made into a complete set. Whats everyones idea on quality and value? If not I am going to return them, I know I can get bigger, better quality freshwatter pearls. What is everyones thoughts on my purchase in general rather then freshwater, as well as these specific pearls? I am totally new to this, I am getting my future wife a wedding day gift. Thank you for any help/ advise.

I'm curious, if you don't mind telling us, what did you buy them as? Akoya? I ask because you mentioned getting bigger freshwater and I wondered if you meant these weren't freshwater. How long is the necklace, and what size are the pearls? Is this a photo of the actual strands? They're pretty!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

I did buy them as Akoya, do they resemble Akoya? Freshwater? or can you tell the deference? I bought a 16in necklace, 7 in bracelet and earrings. They are 6.5-7 mm. Thank you on the congratulations!

They look great to me. Akoya pearls are a classic that look terrific on most women. Think of it as the starting point for a lifetime of pearl jewelry collecting!

They are lovely, and I think I understand what you meant now- you've been reading posts on PG and noticed a lot of posters saying you get more bang for the buck with freshwaters, fine,;) but you want to know how well you did with what you already bought, the Akoya?

The pearls in the picture are lovely! Akoya have an advantage in that they're predictably round. That's very reassuring for a giver.

Have you already received them, or are they on the way? Without a picture of the actual strands and the price you paid its hard to respond to how you did, in a commercial sense.

I think your gift is very sweet and romantic. Speaking of romantic, we're all pretty soft-hearted re love here, so if you want to tell us how it goes, we'd love to hear about how beautiful they are worn, and anything you want to photograph. Best wishes!:D
