I have my mother's beloved 30 inch strand which doesn't suit my needs. I want to make an 18 - 19 inch strand necklass and perhaps have a bracelet made of the leftovers. I will pass these down to my daughter. Does anyone know of a reliable person to do the re - do in the Bradenton - Sarasota FL area? I am very down to earth and don't need a "famous name" just someone capable and reasonable.

I know of only one merchant in that area, and I don't know if she re-strings or re-designs for folks. She might know of someone, however. I'm sorry this reply is so delayed. You can contact Inger of rainbow island pearls on eBay. Good luck!

Pearl Paradise has a re-stringing service. I've used it before and been very pleased but of course you would have to mail the pearls.
