There is no universal standard for grading pearls, unlike diamonds. So sellers can give the pearls they sell whatever grade they like.
A-AAA is the most common and accepted range, but some sellers use A-AAAA or even AAAAA.
It doesn't make their pearls better.
Ideally sellers should have a page on their website where they describe what the grades mean.
It's best to buy from vendors who have a reputation for selling genuine pearls. That being said, freshwater pearls are usually much less costly than saltwater pearls. If they are listed as freshwater, likely they are.
