Greetings everyone!
I just got this lovely necklace and I don’t know anything about pearls and this felt like a great place to come. I don’t have much info on the necklace. I know it’s fresh water pearls and sterling silver and it was purchased in California at least 30 years ago, most likely longer. Im curious if the pearls look dyed or if this is their natural color and I would love to hear any thoughts or info on where the pearls may have originated from. I got the necklace with a pair of earrings for $112.00 and feel like I really scored. Thanks!

Hi and welcome to Pearl Guide!

They are dyed freshwater pearls from China. Freshwater pearls don't come in that color naturally.

These are inexpensive pearls, but the silver flower is gorgeous!
How do you plan to get the tarnish off?

The flower pendant appears to be Hill Tribe Silver. They are oxidized before they are sold.

Interesting! I did not know that.
I have to admit the oxidized look is not for me, but I can see why some would like it.
