Pearl Farm in the Sea of Cortez

Once more...in all these photos: Nothing is Artificial. Color & Luster are Natural. The pearls still smell fishy ;)

All the individual pearls are from the same group depicted in the previous post.
Noticed the brown-orange pearl? In water the color is most striking...and the "True Blue"...it is ALIVE with colors!!!

Cool! Is there a photo of the "Eye of Sauron"?

I hope so. I placed it here on the forum last year...it was a huge (for our pearls) baroque pearl (14 mm) with an intense "fish-eye" effect but "warped" due to its shape.
Being a Tolkien fan...it just had to happen. ;)

Overall: this has been our best year ever. I miss finding some "hidden treasure" pearls such as last year's "Eye of Sauron"...but the pearls are rounder, larger and colorful. Not a bad year at all...

Alas, the "Eye of Sauron"---it was ALMOST within my grasp last year. If only Douglas had drunk a little more tequila and my wenching skills were a whole lot better.

This years larger and more colourful pearls look great!

Are you referring to this?

Neither to me but it is Sea of Cortez from 2007 with a "Fish-Eye".

Yikes,
It just gets better and better.
Fabulous pearls Douglas, oh, my, just fabulous.

and I love the "Drop-Dead-Gorgeous 10mm Drop shaped Rainbow Colored Pearl" from post 57.

Douglas - simply stunning. I can no longer even say which colours I like best in your photos - I am just in complete awe!

You`re welcome! I think the pearl look great in it?s setting... I like how people give pearls names like that, (Eye of Sauron, Google Earth etc.) it?s truly a sign how unique they can be when people even give them names...

Be still my beating heart! They are soooo beautiful that it's hard to believe they are of this earth. ;)

Thanks for the reference back to the other postings - a complete visual treat! Boo, your cosmology photos are amazing! And here I was thinking about moonbows in respect to the Sea of Cortez pearls just this morning....
