Hi all! I am new here. I am asura, Indonesian born but now living in Australia. I love pearls a lot but doesn't know much about it..well not yet anyway.

I only have 3 pearls bracelets so far. First is this black dyed akoya bracelet with 14 kt gold clasp I purchased from Pearl Paradise. Second is this big black south sea with 22 kt gold flower design. Tahitian pearl can only be from French Polynesia??:confused: if its not from there it must be called as black south sea thugh it came from the same oyster species? is that true?? Third its small silverish baroque south sea pearls with 22kt gold balls and chains. One of the pearl fell off and lost so I am pretty bummed with that:mad:.

Btw I have this strand of metalic colored freshwater Chinese pearls that is not yet made into anything. So if many of you can post me your fabulous pearls bracelets on here, I will take inspiration from that! Thinking to make like a stack pearl bangles with 3 pearls each on each bangle?? anyway...would love to see those pearl bracelets of yours! I haven't take any photo of it but when I do I will post it here!:p

so....where is the bracelets?? show me...show me....pleeeeaaseeeeee....

Very pretty bracelets! The flower design on with the big pearls is amazing.

Lovely bracelets, esp your SS bracelet! I've been thinking of making a few bracelets lately since I've only got one neck and have more than enough necklaces. No, wait, I don't. Who am I kidding? We never have enough necklaces! But still, I have two wrists that could use some decorating so I'm interested in designs too. Right now, I have a few akoya bracelets and have been doubling a Tahitian necklace to wear as a bracelet. I've been thinking of changing out all my charms on my charm bracelet to small pearl dangles that are no longer worn. So many ideas, not enough time!

Hello Katbran! where are you in Aussie? I'm in Sydney. I will sure check that group out n get sum ideas. Btw I want to try to string pearls but doesnt really know where to get supply. Do you have any suggestion where I can get like spacer beads or silk strings around Sydney area?

The pearls I want to turn into bracelet are the one in the picture. It is freshwater pearls I bought from Etsy. Its from China. So I don't know about quality but I like the color. I bought that for 200$ is that cheap or expensive? I would like to turn it into stack bracelets like the second pic I got from browsing the internet. Would that look good?

Thank you Gemgeek!

Hi Amti! I love SS because they r big and shocking in a way. It is ok to doubling your necklaces and use it as bracelet? It wont do any damage to it?

I wonder is there any jewellers around Sydney that can customise pearls without breaking the bank.

Lovely bracelets! Pearls ara so big! Welcome to Pearl Guide!

Oh, yes, the flower filagree with the big pearls is amazing! The bracelet with the pearls hanging off looks fun, too.

Thanks MSC, Naan n Linda. The filigree flowers are traditional Indonesian design. Handmade in Lombok island. I put better pic of the bracelet down here. 5 little flowers. Also got the matching pendant which is just 1 big flower. You can see details of the filigree works.

Welcome on this forum, Asura!
FYI if you are interested in Indonesian ssps, you can contact Cees (a member on this forum)
He has tons of knowledge about Indonesian pearls and pearl farms. He also said to me last week that unfortunately the water in the sea of Lombok is now polluted which in turns affects the quality of the pearls farmed there. Kendari and Pulau Talisei have better quality pearls.

Thank you Pareltje! I will look up for Cees. Is he Indoesian? I didnt know that Lombok is now polluted. I think when I go home I have to go to Talisei and Kendari Island.
