Hello all! I have just created a new group for all pearl sellers who have their website stores online. I think it will be easier for people to find online sellers at one place when looking for pearl vendors at various geographical locations around the world. I hope this is useful to the P-G community and pearl lovers on the whole!

Click here, and add yourself to the group...https://www.pearl-guide.com/forum/group.php?groupid=5

Cheers!

Sponsors? You've been wonderful to those who have other sites in allowing them to post links, send pm's to prospects, etc. But you are the guys who put your money where your mouth is. Were it not for you, there would be no forum. I think this might be a violation of the forum rules, but like I said, you all have been kind in looking the other way when that rule is bent. I understand the purpose of making locales easy to find, but obviously, this is your call. I'm just not sure it fits the mission of the forum as an educational tool.

Ooops! Probably I did not think through before doing this. If Admin thinks it is against the rules, please feel free to remove/ block the group. Thanks Knotty, for bringing this aspect of it to my attention.

My only aim was to make access to sellers practical and easy for all, as recently I have seen quite a few threads asking where sellers can be found...

Sorry:eek:

Not your fault. The sponsors have made us feel so at home that we sometimes forget they are footing the bill for us. One of the objectives of the forum is to "promote honest and ethical pearl retailers and wholesalers." I wasn't there when that objective was written, but I think they had the sponsor vendors in mind. I think your group may fall in line with that, but then the other side of the coin is, anyone who can register as a member, can list their site on the group. I'm not sure promoting anyone who can register is one of the objectives. But like I said, it's not my call. We shall see what will be.

My concern is that those looking for a list of places to shop don't do their homework, and dig a little to learn how to evaluate pearls. There are no "qualifications" for those on the list, so there should be a disclaimer of some sort that being listed is not an endorsement of that shop or or the merchandise. I said that poorly, but hopefully you know what I mean. Knowing the right questions to ask helps the buyer empower himself and makes for a more successful purchase, IMO. I haven't noticed it so much recently, but in the past buyers come here wanting to know where's the "best" THAT, and the cheapest "THIS" and want to skip the education part all together----
