New and less new pearls

Those are luscious Kojima earrings, Lisa C. Sarah and I are both very fond of Pink Lady apples :)

Well, of course the earrings are Fiona's, the apple is mine, hehehe.

Thank you everyone. Yes Kojima is dangerous! Etsy is dangerous! There are some fantastic pearl sellers.

Here are some more photos. I've tried to show my jackets, so some half face photos. Jackets are my other thing. I think I mentioned that....

Hello everyone, and happy new year!
I have been reading for the past while but not posting.
I have also been buying more pearls, so this is an update.
First off are the earrings - most from Kojima and Julia from OceanRhyme (on Etsy), one pair from Imogene here in Melbourne (the assymetrical south seas ones in photo one), one from Sarah at OceansCove (longer pair with tourmaline and Aquaprase, not shown separately though) and a pair from Rolay.
Pendants shown in close up are OceanRhyme (white with gold leaves), Rolay (blue bean and Tahitian, and I’ll come back to the Tahitian one later), TahitiPearlsdesigner (SS enhancer) and there’s a pretty blue soufflé necklace from Margaret at SimplyAdorned4U.
There will be more with the purple round drop earrings from photo 2 - these arrived yesterday from Sarah at Kojima and are FABULOUS.

I’ll introduce the necklaces next. There have been some absolute stars this year. Mostly I’ve been spending in the last few months of what was a truly awful year. But the pearls give me pleasure.

Necklace #1 is a mixed Tahitian strand from Imogene. I think the largest pearls would around 14mm in diameter and the enhancer is larger still.
Necklace #2 is from Kojima. This mixed SS necklace is so wonderful. I bought it mid year and love it to bits. I’m sure many of you have seen this one in person - I’ve seen it in shots on pearl guide from past visits to Kojima.

Both are rope length.

Necklaces #3 and #4 are shown in the first two photos. Those of you who stalk Kojima’s website might recognise them - these were recent Christmas purchases. The purples and goldens in #3 don’t photograph all that well but in life they are extraordinarily lovely.
Necklace #4 is in all the photos in this batch from photo 2 on. It’s the sumptuous meal one and its lustre is spectacular. You’ll see in the last photo that I’ve put it with #2 necklace. Necklace #4 is subtler than #2, which has stronger golds.

Here we have necklaces #5, 6 and 7. Each has two photos, in turn.

Necklace #5 is another recent Kojima purchase - the nautical stripes one. Again, lustre is gorgeous. This is a mix of white South Seas, blue Akoya and I think white CFPs.
Necklace #6 is another Kojima from a little longer ago. To me in real life it is much more pink than peach.
Necklace #7 is from SimplyAdorned4U - Margaret made this metallic CFP endless rope for me around a year ago I think. She did such a lovely job and was so accommodating. Sorry to have taken so long to post this one!
I’ve realised that #6 and #7 go well together too - these are together in the last two photos. The lustre looks liquid!

Fiona !! Look at all those pearls !!!! Omg it's hard to choose a favourite ! They are all favourites !! I'm sorry you have had a bad year and I hope your new pearls help you feel better !

Thanks Katbran, that’s very kind. I hope you’re well and have been safe through the fires.

Here is the next batch of photos. I’m going to try to take better ones with my husband’s phone on the weekend.

The first necklace (#8) from this series of posts is another from Imogene in Melbourne (Clifton Hill). It’s a Tahitian mix with mostly keshi. In the second photo it’s with Necklace #1, from the same seller. I have two Tahitian keshi ropes from Kathryn at Imogene now.

The first purple necklace is from Pacific Pearls. So that’s #9. It’s the one that Sarah showed on Instagram. Sarah also made me earrings, which you can see here. The whole combination is glorious. I don’t think the colours came out in the photos the same way as I see them - there’s actually less red and more blue that I see. I wore these today with teal and then with light blue and they were extremely complementary with the blues coming out.

In the sixth photo is Necklace #10, which I bought over Christmas from Pearl Paradise. This was the deep purple one on the site. It’s smaller than the Pacific Pearls strand and the colours aren’t as bright/pinky. The lustre in both is remarkable and I would think the two strands could be combined if I wanted to. The last two photos show strand #10 on the outside.

And we are not done yet. I ate a lot of feelings this year and bought a lot of pearls! These show Necklace #11 in the first two photos (another recent from Kojima that several of you might recognise) and the third photo is one from OceanRhyme that is lovely but I haven’t actually worn yet (!).

The rest of the photos in this batch are purpley family photos and my attempts to show the Pacific Pearls strand. I haven’t done anything to these photos but the iPhone has obviously had a go. The colours toward the end are more what I actually see in real life though.

Here is the Rolay (Etsy) pendant that blows my mind. It’s massive, and looks like an Easter Egg. I looked at Rolay based on another PG member posting a couple of weeks ago. How fabulous, what a find - thank you! This Tahitian is 16.8 mm in diameter and 19.5 mm length. The lustre is truly mirror like, you can see me holding up fingers....

The last photo shows the things I have bought from Rolay (another pendant to come though) and the others have a mix with Kojima earrings. Just WOW on the lustre to all.

You have had a great pearl year. So many gorgeous pearls, they are all gorgeous but I really like the mismatched white and gold south sea ones in the first photo. Are the golden pearls keshis? Looks like a Kojima piece. Just stunning. And that purple strand looks amazing on you. I hope that this year will be better than last for you. Like you I have had a difficult year and a half behind me, with people getting cancer, my father died, a close family friend died, my old cat died etc. But last year was an excellent pearl year at least. And I did get two new kittens. Thank you for all the lovely pearl photos.

Fiona, I am sorry to hear about your not-so-great year, but wow, ALL those new pearls are sure a happy thing! :p You have collected so many fabulous pieces. It makes me so happy when I see whose collection some of the pearls I have admired have landed in. Enjoy every one of them!

Hi Charlotta, thank you, and I’m sorry you had a bad year.
The mismatched earrings you mentioned were made for me by Kathryn at Imogene, here in Melbourne. Yes, the golds are large keshi with a silky lustre. The style is like that probably because I have so much of Sarah’s work and have loved the Kojima look!

Thanks jeg, I am a huge fan of your collection and think we are both massive Kojima fans!

I did want to post these as well. They show the lustre from my recent Kojima earrings. Amazing.
