Nesting vs. Twisting?

For strands of the same length, do you prefer to nest them or twist them? I've been playing around with some strands and I can't decide if I like the twisted look or not.

Twisting means a mini-torsade ? That can be nice for smaller pearls, won't they? I especially like autumn colors in torsade.
