Natural and cultured pearls at famous Paris XXVI? Biennale

Anne, sometimes we just wish everyone else was there with us to appriciate what we see - not that many do :)

Anna,

Love that both necklaces and earrings combine green gems with the pearls; I've always loved them together. The contrast between the organic crystals and the round white pearls is genius! The earrings are amazing! Looking forward to more revelations~thank you, Anna~

Let's move to Chanel Pavilion.
Chanel launched her first high jewelry collection in 1932, Mademoiselle Chanel said diamonds offer the highest value and shine in the smalllest volume (or the contrary:)
This year exhibition is a tribute to the 1932 collection.
Pavilion decoration is truly exquisite, so sunday's special, are the pics of the pavilion and I will post photos of Chanel's pearls next week.
In the meantime, you can watch this link but ... no pearls in this link, Chanel biennale pearls are only on Pearl Guide!

In the meatime, I noticed I already won 4 on the reputation scale, thank you all.

Dear Anna,

Thank you for the amazing photographs... makes me want to get on a flight just for the Parisian architecture! What an amazing collection of jewellery...

You deserve the '4'!

Thanks for your interest.
What's inside Chanel pavilion, let's start with a pair of earrings. There was no panel description and I wanted to know more about the pearls.
I asked the lady attending there, and my question suddenly looked incongruous, well, that was oyster pearls ! so what?
There were no more information about where and which molluscs they come from, so that's up to you to advise about !
I am wondering if those could be the famous peo pipi pearls Caitlin told us about some times ago. Or can it be some gold keshis (I have 4 strands of these little wonders myself).
The top part is set with pink diamonds and there is a big diamond drop hanging over the bunch of keshis.
What do you think?

Here is a close up, unfortunatly, the definition of photo is not good enough, pearls were gold, can akoya keshis be gold?
I was also thinking of Indonesia or Philippines keshis.
The match of golden seed/keshi pearls with pink diamonds is really lovely.

A very special necklace/ earrings set to come ... later...

I do think you could find natural gold akoya keshi - they would be rare. If there are natural gold akoyas (and there are, and they are gorgeous, see the thread on Broken Bay pearls) then no reason why the keshi could not be gold color?

Those earrings are just amazing...

Anna, I am loving this thread, thank you so much!

CliClasp,

Thank you for sharing your lovely photos! The pearls pieces are stunning & The rest just beautiful. Thank you again for sharing this with all of us.

Next photos will be about red pearls or close to ... stay tuned

From a set that I will post the other part later, here is a pair of CHANEL earrings.
Seeds or tiny pearls with diamonds drops at bottom and beautiful big pink diamonds on top.
No means to have more information about what kind of pearls and where they are from ... you have to guess, so who's starting first ?
