Today I'm wearing the Kasumis from the Tiara Stash, the akoyas and I've finished stringing the gorgeous Oregon Sunstone that Pattey contributed with as part of the Tiara Stash. They are an absolute perfect match for the akoyas. I'll try to take a picture later in the day. What struck me was that I would be so lost if I couldn't make my own pieces. All of these fines pieces of jewelry have been strung/wired by me. I really bless that skill.

Here's todays look - the Oregon Sunstones hang below the akoyas. I love how they completely match the color but in a completely different material. The Kasumi is a bit blurry. I promise I will show the pair (very unmatched pair ) when they are with the 22K earhooks they are waiting for.

Those Akoyas are complemented rather nicely by the sunstone.......

I still did not decide what I'll do with my strand, but my way of thinking was similar.. I took out pale gold FW with metallic luster that I stashed away some time ago and tried to mix them with sunstone and vermeil... did not like 100% the "look" so I put it away waiting for better idea.
I like yours: nice and simple!

Thank you , Ivona. I find that the added benifit is that I can use the sunstones on their own. The necklace is long enough to look nice with the neck line I usually use, and I like the subtlety of the facetted rondelles.

All right, an overdue update and even as I have worked with pictures today I have remembered bits and pieces I made since last that I forgot to photograph today. These days I have a space in a photo studio but there is no lightbox or any fancy equipment. Hopefully, though, the mixture of different light sources helps give a fairly accurate picture of the pearls. Here in dark Scandinavia we certainly need some help with the light!

First one up - pondslimes from Sarah, Kojima. These are not new but I didn't wear them in the previous version and so put them away. They have now reincarnated as a shorter strand (19'' I think) made up with rubies and a vermeil toggle clasp.

Next one is a strand of kasumi-like Chinese FW (also called furrow pearls). I'm afraid I got tempted a while back when someone asked about pearls from luckstore66 on eBay. Their prices seemed very reasonable and I liked the look. These are described as being pink/golden/platinum. I found they matched the pictures from the listing very well. I took the strand apart, removed four pearls for later earrings and added a huge copper clasp from Etsy.

Latest addition: natural blue akoya from Pearl Paradise. These look just like on the website! Some years ago a friend showed me her old strand of natural blue akoya and I swooned. Earlier I have tried to buy a strand from Stachura but they are no match (neither pricewise) for the PP version. Thankfully I have found a new home for my wrong purchase. Here is the real deal - size 7.5-8mm. I can wear that size just fine and it was within my budget. They are 18'' long and so far not restrung and re-clasped

Finally (necklacewise) my first serious pearls, the freshwater klonks, have been brought back to life. This time they have been turned into a choker necklace and a bracelet with the largest of the pearls. The clasp is the copper clasp I used the first time around. I like to wear the necklace with one of Sven's (Augustus Collection) handcarved buffalo bone Goddesses.
This post also includes the only 'neckshot' this time around. This Sunday I was fortunate to get one of my 'studio pals' to take some shots for me to use on the next section of my website that will include my art - and of course I was wearing pearls

And here's a picture of the four strands together...

And finally, for today, the latest version of my Tahitian earrings. First I had a pair of good baroques. Then I had a pair of Kamoka pearls. But this summer I wanted to move things around a bit. I found those particular Kamokas a bit tame compared to some of their pals on my bracelet, and after my visit to the Gem Faire in Portland the two Kamokas were added to the bracelet as I came away with two huge, perfectly round Tahitians from John Wu. I don't know if you can see it, but the left is dark green and the right is bronze. This is on purpose. I felt that showing more of what these pearls can do rather than have a perfectly matching pair would enhance the experience. The hooks are still 18K with emeralds.
