Thank you Cricketbug. They are really gorgeous and not so small as some of my other graduated akoyas. The smallest pearls are about 4mm and the biggest about 9mm.
Thank you Happy Huka, Pattye, ennui and Jesskat. That clasp is very pretty.
ennui, copy on. I don't mind even if we should run in to each other (not likely since I'm very far away).
Today I restrung/rearranged my greenish south seas. I like the layout of my grey and white baroque south sea strand, a necklace and bracelet with the same clasps so that I can wear it as a necklace and a bracelet or combine the two to make a rope. Perfect combination except for the fact that you have to buy two strands...with so many pearls to choose from that rarely happens for me at least. When I did buy my first greenish strand from Kongspearl it was supposed to be champagne...but it wasn't and I didn't mind. Then I bought the next strand, that looked even more champagne in the photos, because I wanted a champagne strand to...but it was equally greenish. It's still beautiful, but has allowed me to play around with the greenish south sea pearls. This is the latest version, and I think the final one, I did restring the strand as well since I wanted the pearls to face the same way. I have since given up on finding a champagne strand. I probably want a slightly darker golden strand than that. Maybe medium gold (with green overtones perhaps). New version.
The studs are green south sea studs from Pearlescence. I did buy champagne studs to go with the strand...but they don't look good together. Luckily I had these green ones from Wendy.
They look great with my funkias. Love funkias (but I usually cut of the flowers).
With my grey and white baroque south sea strand. This one I made with white baroque south sea pearls from Pearlescence and baroque tahitians from Cees.
The grey and white baroque south sea strand alone.
Some of my roses are blooming to.
The light turned perfect for tahitians. I always see these colors with my eyes, but the phonecamera is hopelessly flawed (smartphones? I think not). Today I wore only my 10,9mm peacock tahitian studs from Pearlescence. It was hot and we went out with the boat for the first time this year.
But yesterday I did have more pearls on, not that I rememberd to photograph them on me... Pink and green 8,8mm tahitian studs from Pearlescence, my Rikiteas from Cees and my 9-10mm ombre tahitian rope from Cees. The Rikiteas and the rope looks great together, somehow they look like a really long rope. Even though one is ombre and the other one multicolor.
So while the light was cooperative I took some more tahitian photos. My tahitian drop strand with pearls from PearlParadise and Wen Pearls. I used all the colorful ones.
These colors are especially pretty.
The peacock tahitian in my sampler strand, these ones are from Druzydesign.
Probably the prettiest cooper green color, tahitian earrings from Cees.
With my ombre tahitian rope from Cees.
I got some better photos of my greenish south sea strand and bracelet.
Green south sea studs from Pearlescence and champagne south sea studs from TahitiPearldesigner.
I can use the champagne studs with the greenish strand but they don't look as good together as the green ones. It's also pretty obvious that the strand has a lot of green pearls in it when ones see them next to the champagne ones.
All the greens, and some vintage akoyas.
A better photo of the grey and white strand.
Today I restrung my vintage double akoyastrand with the citrine and seedpearl clasp.
Some of the pearls are quite damaged, but they look great on. I think that some lady loved these pearls and wore them a lot. With perfume or hairspray. Some of the bigger pearls are damaged near the drillholes, but just on one side and the longer strand have damaged pearls near the clasp. It's still a beautiful necklace.
The clasp looks beautiful together with my deep golden 8mm south sea from Cees...so I cut the double strand apart, but since it's a double strand clasp with two loops on each side of the clasp it didn't look good. Bummer. So I reknotted the golden strand and today the akoyas. Maybe I try to modify the clasp and move the rings. Might ask Laguna if she can fix it when she is finished with the new clasp she is making me. I don't know how old the clasp is though. It looks older than the double strand. This is the back side of the clasp.
My two double akoyastrands.
With my akoya and green south sea strand.
Gemandpearllovers blue, grey and white tahitian and akoya strands got some ideas in my head. Maybe I could combine my drop tahitians and my blue akoyas? Thanks for the inspiration Gemandpearllover. This is the drop tahitians with some smaller blue akoyas. I didn't bring my new Pearlescence akoyas with me to the summer cabin. Have to look at them together tonight.
Thank you JerseyPearl and 86Corvettegirl. Yes they are on a playdate, I always bring some of my pearls with me to the summer cabin. The light is good for photos there.
