My pearls

That's a fun charm bracelet Charlotta. :) I love seeing your creativity in action! I've rummaged through my stash and notice there's a big-whopper strand of gray-ish Tahitians that I never wear anymore, so I shall muse on what to do with them to re-work them into something I will use. Thanks for your inspiring posts!

Thank you Cricketbug. Can't wait to see what you do with the tahitians. Please show photos when you are done reworking them.

I'll do some before/after shots, although it may take me a loooong time to make up my mind what to do!

You're killing me with that ombre' Tahitian and those baby pinks! Enjoy!

Thank you Octavia's Mom. I can't stop staring at that ombre strand, so many colors and overtones.

Today I got 2 deliveries. First a pair of pink and green tahitian studs from Wendy at Pearlescence. The studs are 8,8mm and has a really clean surface. They look lovely with my new ombre tahitian rope from Cees.

Then I got a delivery from Cees. A pair of 10-11mm copper green tahitians. I was going to turn them into studs, but they looked better with yellow gold dangly earring findings that I had on hand. They have the most beautiful old gold color.

I'm trilled with my new earrings. I had nothing like that before.

Congratulations on your new pearls Charlotta! Lovely choices, so different, yet so versatile, and really beautiful earrings.

I’m admiring your new earrings, Charlotta. The pinks are amazing, but those deep golden with a dash of green Tahitians are so gorgeous. Love that color.

Thank you Red, Katbran, Bcm21mk and Pattye. I agree the golden green pearls are really wonderful and not a color I ever seen in pearls before.

What great variety you have to choose from, Charlotta. I'm so glad you share photos with us!

Years ago I bought a pair of baroque pearl studs on ebay. I didn't pay much but I wanted something that matched my baroque akoyas that I found in an antique store. Then I thought things had to match... I don't use them anymore, since I have nice pearls and they are rather ugly. But with 14 k yellow findings. Yesterday I put them in aceton to harvest the findings. Worked like a charm. I was going to throw the pearls away but when I looked at the drillholes, I wanted to see how thick the nacre, was I couldn't find the line, even with my loupe. They sort of look like akoyas, lusterwise, not like freshwater pearls. Very dirty inside the drillholes, even after the aceton. On one of the pearls the nacre look a bit flaked. What kind of pearls do you think that they are?

Most ugly pearls ever (forgot the dyed trying-to-be-fireball pearls that I did throw away)

Maybe I should smash them

Forgot their size, about 8mm and ivory colored.

Probably cultured freshwater pearls. The rounder ones have been around for quite a few years now.
