My pearl project

There are, Katbran ... I've seen polished gold, brushed gold, as well as GP and Sterling. I'd love to see laser or diamond cut gold, and some studded with gemstones ... :)

Delightful necklace; love the versatility! Great job, Pareltje! Rio Grande has 3 sizes of the orbits in rhodium plated sterling silver. Not sure if there are multiple sizes in karat gold. Here's a comparison in sterling silver

Wow! Thanks for the info, Pattye. I'll take a look again at RG's silver orbit clasps. The smallest is perfect.

Thank you Pareltje for your answers.
This is the second time I asked you about the pearl jewelry finding! Thank you so much!

Jersey has a good point. Depending on what you're designing though, you might be able to just skip that multi-clasp and make single pieces. Sarah made individual pieces for my Waterfalls All Around set, using small orbit "pinch side" only pieces I special ordered from Rio Grande. That special order was not without a series of glitches and mishaps .... proceed with caution ... but it all worked out, and I love being able to connect anything to anything.

Pareljte - may I ask you, where you puchased the pearls from? They are nice little pearls!

Katalin, of course you can always ask! They are from Wen. I bought them already drilled and strung on thread. They were very affordable.

Thanks for the lengths.

I may be in the minority, but I sort of like the neatness of the current clasp. I think with an orbit on each side, there is more room for the necklaces to tangle each other. Each having their own loop to lock onto means that you can adjust them easily and they will not play with each other near the clasp.

I do agree with amti ... I like the necklace just the way it is; very beautiful ... and as amti says there are unique advantages. I only mentioned orbits as Pareltje mentioned looking for them in other sizes :)

After checking the dimensions of all the orbit clasps available from Bella Findings and Rio Grande, I came to the conclusion that they are still too big for my project because the smallest size is about 10mm wide. My trigger/lobster clasps are 6mm wide. I have also ordered the parrot claps too which I'm going to use for my next project. The orbit clasps are still in my mind, I just need to think about the perfect design. Maybe 3 bracelets linked together with orbit clasps to form a necklace? Who knows...
