Here she is in all her 5 year old glory with her new Tahitian single, complete with chocolate ice cream all over her face. Out of 20 pictures these were the only ones in focus and with the pearl showing! It's actually a very nice 8mm Kamoka. I must be crazy, but aren't mothers supposed to give pearls to daughters?

Oops, here's the pics. It's not as tight as it looks, the clasp pulled it down in back a little. I'll post pic of just the pearl, or of her in the day light. If I can get her to hold still.

Sweet, and she can blame you later for having a pearl obsession! :D

DK :D

I'm more worried about that than anything else! She does love to string beads, and is amazingly dexterous with them. I gave her a pile of pretty small holed (for a 5 year old) "scraps" thinking it would keep her occupied for a while, and she strung them in about 5 minutes. When she gets a little older I can teach her to knot and start my own sweat shop. lol

Hmmm - chocolate Tahitian pearls are hot, but chocolate and Tahitian pearls? No wonder she looks so happy...

How adorable!!!

She must take after you for her stringing/beading talent.

She looks like a little Beach Baby with that tow head! How cute!

Thanks, everyone. The picture is pretty much the essence of who she is. Those of you that might remember that I took a daughter to college this fall remember correctly. Isn't life interesting? She tried to tie a knot in it, slept in it last night and wore it to school today. Now I'll see how the beading wire does as a base for the necklaces I made and whether to do moe. Here is a pic of the pearl itself, not quite as cute, but I'm thinking about this single pearl on wire for the market. It has a silver toggle clasp - simple way to wear a pearl! Economical, but I want to make sure the wire stays nice. I think I'll get my answer - if the pearl comes home

Aww, very sporty and sweet!

Sheryl,
What a beauty !
Bet she has you running in circles....:)

Ooh OOH me ME! I want to model, so let me know when you put your adult versions up for sale. :D I love the way your designs tend to stay close to the neck and how many have a central focal pearl.

I really like exposed wire because it can look industrial-minimalist and I because I apparently have a perfectly round neck. It looks like you're using a more flexible wire, but back when round memory wire necklaces first became popular, I had this exchange with a male friend in a store:

Him: "I don't get that. Necks aren't shaped that way..."
Me: pick up necklace, *plink* around neck
Him: "I meant normal people." :D
