I bought a vintage pair of earrings for the price of the silver screw back fittings.they had at sometime been glued in place with dark brown glue,the residue came off with hot water.They are obviously not matched pearls as my head separates my ears ,no one’s going to notice….

“Efficient for some customers”,sounds like you were selling surgical supplies…..Some of us who have never had holes drilled into our ears are very glad of “ efficient” screw backs!

LOL. Being a man and never having used earrings and being an Engineer by training.... well, yes, I admit it: I marveled at the device's ability to hang on to lovely earlobes and carefully sustaining the gem as well...a partnership in design and efficiency.
Mea culpa Barbara...loved the way you described the scene, and I am wearing a big grin for it!
