A first for me - a successful online auction bid for this strand! And I'm delighted with what arrived in the post today!

Sold as "vintage graduated pearls, 9ct box clasp (broken). 4.5 to 8.25mm. Approx 49cm (19") long"
I assume they are akoyas but not particularly vintage - your thoughts are welcome.

Have plans for a new clasp and of course a restring with it.

And, as always, my admiration for those of you who take such gorgeous pearly photos... it is so difficult to get the right light.

Wow, congratulations! Such nice luster! And good photos, too.

Do post another photo after it's all restrung-- maybe on your neck?

What a fantastic find, Happy Huku! Congratulations!

That's a really nice strand. On the napkin it looks like it has the patina of age, but that's probably the lighting.

It's a great looking strand! Excellent luster and great Orient!
This was quite a find...Congrats!
:D

I have long admired your collection of graduated pearls, Pearl Dreams, so am thrilled I found a strand at last.
Yes, will post a new clasp photo, will take a while though.

Yes, never realised lighting is so tricky, I took the photo inside on on the napkin first but it looked far too yellow so I went outside to have a go and bingo, I managed to get closer to the colours that you actually see.

Please PM me the source Thanks

How funny this thread gets a bump just as I collect my newly re-strung pearls...
It took a while to get organised - I used my old sapphire clasp on the 'new for me' graduated strand and am delighted with the result.

And while I was getting organised with my auction strand, I also had my PP akoyas re-strung with my new emerald clasp that I'm very happy with as well.
The story behind the emerald clasp - it was one of a well loved and worn pair of earrings. Sadly I lost one while out and about. My lovely jeweller made the clasp for me incorporating the remaining earring. (Yes, you guessed, she also made the sapphire one for me ten years ago!).

Such a beautiful necklace @Happy Huku!!! Congratulations on your auction win! Well done! And those custom clasps add something special and personal to your necklaces. I love the earring-clasp conversion❤️❤️❤️

Beautiful necklace! Amazing luster and deep pink overtone...the clasp just suits it perfectly!
