My 2 Best Graduated Strands Not Mikimoto

I'm down to really 3 strands of good pearls.

I have a 5.1 to 8.8mm 21 inch---Mikimoto\
but these 2 strands compare favorably.

A 4.8 to 8.2mm 23 inch Plat Dia Clap strands & a smaller 3.3mm to 7,2mm 17.5 in.

Photos do not capture hardly any of the real beauty! I was very lucky to have found 2 older great strands in top condition every much as good as Mikimoto. (Just checked side by side & Mikimoto wins on luster & size & the small 17.5 inch comes very close in luster & smoothness. Platinum strand is really nice but has some blemishes & is slightly less mirrorlike on the luster but still exceptional for a least 50 + years necklace. They are all that old.

The smaller one is mirror like & absolutely breathtaking. It came in a Apel pearl folder. Apel was in business since the late 1800's in PA & had some hi end jewelry. That's not the original clasp. It came with a plain yellow gold. I had them restrung & used that clasp from another strand where the pearls had not faired the years as well.

The larger one is nice size & I love the platinum diamond clasp!

The 17.5 in is only knotted at ends. I had it restrung & that's the way it was originally. I guess knotting would make it longer but its very nice at that length since its a finer graduated.

Oh yes! I love that platinum clasp too! Do you ever wear them together?

No never wore them together but its an idea. I just was lazy & did not want to take pictures seperately so put them together.

Ive never worn the small one since it was restrung & I gues I wore the plat one once or twice...BAD ME but I am afraid to get them dirty...LOL

I just don;t wear strands very much now. I wear tank tops & don;t go anywhere ut I really shoudl be enjoying my jewlery or sell it & get things I will wear more.

Still everyone wants a nice strand for those special times..

Mikomoto in middle length is my favorite & biggest pearl strand.

I guess I need to keep all three for those want to be draped in pearls times.

Plat strand is longer but Miki has larger pearls & beats it n luster...

Plat center is off center...hard to keep graduated in line but plat is more uniform in size of graduation
where miki has impressive 8.8 mm center

Still I am looking through my jewelry with intent to sell some to purchase others & tahitians are calling to me.
