I just had to wear pearls today even though I didn't really have any place special to go. I am wearing a 19" choker and 36" rope with a wonderful mix of aubergine, peacock, pistachio and other colors I can't even describe. Both necklaces have pearls 11 - 13mm and are drop shaped. I also added a necklace shorter to the front of the rope to stop it from bopping me in the stomach as I walk.

I remember watching "Poor Little Rich Girl" I think it was called, years ago. It was the story of Gloria Vanderbilt's childhood. Her mother was given a LONG strand of pearls from the mother-in-law, and I remember how they bounced all over when she walked, and I wanted that strand of pearls sooooo badly.

Luvglitz and PD ... Me either...not a fan of too much flying around on the chest ! I seldom wear anything longer than 24/26 inches now .. so all my ropes are doubled. Those are some really lovely pearls !! Thanks for the photos !!

I used a necklace shortener, and just put it in the front. It really only helped a little with the pearls bopping me in the stomach, but I liked the look.

Thank you Icyjade. I have palpitations drooling over your pearls especially your goldens. Both of these strands were bought from AP during one of their sales. I bought them at different times and the quality seemed the same. The pearls are drops and described as AAA with very high luster. The various colors do show up in any light.
