Lying through one's teeth is something yet again. Most people openly claim to have done just that. This deliberately exploits their situation.

Other than using their examples, there's no point in re-educating those who've been bilked.

It's the parent companies I'll target, in no uncertain terms.

My name is Dave LeBlanc. I am the owner/operator of Lagoon Island Pearls in Canada. I am also a freelance producer and contributor for national media outlets and an advocate for ethical pearl farming practices around the globe through education, disclosure and sustainable management.

I am currently writing an article and report for the Office of Consumer Affairs and media distribution in Canada including other countries.

In the interest of objectivity, at this time I invite your company's participation and contribution. I have a number of questions to ask, with an understanding some practices may involve proprietary information.

1- Does your company have a representative available at it's head office available for an interview of record?
2- Would your company provide a literature package identical as those offered to potential and current clients?
3- Would your company provide Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) as required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in the United States or Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety? Please include other information with regard to training consutants in barrier protection, contact with food and drink or bodily parts and waste disposal.
4- Would your company provide a summary of the origin of the pearls and pearl bearing oysters (ie) species, body of water and post harvest treatments?
5- What is your company's current policy toward clients operating a legal and ethical manner, compliant with all laws and consumer practices?
6- Again, understanding the necessity of privacy concerns, in the event of violations or discrepancies under question #5, what course of action does your company follow?
7- Is your company willing to provide samples for independant testing by third party or government laboratories? All testing will be performed at no monetary cost to your company.

The two comments at the bottom of the page you linked are telling-- two more people who did not receive what they ordered.
 
IKR? True that! But conflicting in that at the top of that page they are rated at 91% which the site itself calls "Excellent". In what universe (smh)?

I mention this point because you have to dig a little (as you did, Pearl Dreams) to see those two comments...and there are no positive comments, only the negatives. Point is, too, as Jeremy at PP was saying earlier, that a poor review would show up on the first Google search page, this link popped up on first page of Google.

Also, I am sure eventually there may be a call for regulation/standards in the industry or on the internet. As i am new, I duck my head a bit on this idea. But I had to spend many hours searching for reputable sellers on the internet. I am blessed i found one and I am CERTAIN I will be happy with my purchase.

Without commenting on any particular seller or venue, I do think that there needs to be more disclosure with these products. I would be very interested to see how they are labeled, for ALL contents, process (disposal), and warning against consumption. Something about these things just doesn't sit well with me. It's one thing to open a can of clams for linguine alle vongole...maybe I'm on to something here...maybe we should just buy ourselves a bunch of clams and stuff pearls into them and pop em over pasta. At lest with that can of clams you are getting a full disclosure of what's inside!
 
This is all so crooked and disturbing, I can not even express my full sentiment in public!
