Little, itty bitty pearls

Minimalist is definitely a trend in jewelry these days. I'm more of the large and loud type, although tiny pearls can be rather "loud" in a VERY GOOD WAY, as evidenced by the wonderful photos. Sometimes small makes a larger statement than big.

Oh, wow! I love them all. I was afraid I was going to be the only one in love with tiny pearls in this group. I should have known better!

My wedding dog collar with 6mm akoyas. Cameo in front. Mikimoto 6mm huggies.

In hindsight, I wish I'd gone smaller with the pearls in the dog collar.
I think smaller pearls would have been more comfortable to wear that high on the neck.

My first pearl purchase. The long 5 mm akoya rope, worn with my Aunt Love's 18" 6mm pearls, and my 7 mm choker. 5mm pearl drop and ruby heart earrings.

Your ropes are TDF, they look amazing worn together too.

I really love the Kojima natural pearl necklace. It's perfection.

I took some pearls to be drilled today and came across these gorgeous 4-5mm freshwater babies! I purchased two strands for an opera length endless rope, picking it up next weekend.

I misread that you bought ALL those little freshies, and then I wanted that, too.

There's a pearl shop/kiosk in Chadstone shopping centre (I think called the Melbourne Pearl Specialists). They stock a huge variety of cheap freshwater pearls of varying quality (a lot are dyed), as well as Tahitians and SSP. I would say most are commercial quality but they have some stunners too. They also offer restringing and drilling for very reasonable prices. I'll report back next week when I pick up my pearls!

OMG, those are tiny. Perhaps they are seed beads and not pearls?

OOOOps, just clicked on the link. Real pearls. WOW!

Yeah it's pretty unusual so I thought to share. Maybe someone here will be up to the challenge to create their own version?
