These are also Chinese freshwater. If you're being told these are South Sea (referring to your posts on other threads this morning), the seller is being dishonest with you. All the strands are freshwater.

Well, if you like the pearls and you didn't over-pay for them, then no worries. I agree with the statements above, they should not be advertised as South Sea, but that is a by-product of a world that doesn't really understand pearls. After all, even most jewelry store sales people don't get much if any pearl education. Yes, there are many deceptive sellers too...buyer beware. The true issue is price point; a South Sea Strand is very costly, while a freshwater set like you show above, would be a fraction of that cost. So, if the vendor is not advertising correctly, but is charging an appropriate amount for these pearls, and you like them, then go for it. The important thing is that you get what you pay for. I'd hate to think that you paid a South Sea price for a Freshwater strand. This forum is filled with educated individuals who know their pearls. It's a great place to come and learn more.
