Light mix necklace

Hi Everyone! Here is my latest work in progress...my dh thinks I have completely lost my mind! I'm still playing with placement and need to order lighter color Beader's Secret (great stuff Pattye!) The pearls are once again from Jacques!

What the camera refuses to capture is the "blue glow" these pearls seem to have. In natural filtered daylight, they emit a blue light that makes the white napkin radiate a blue tone as well.
eta: the big center pearl is 13mm, and the smallest is 11mm. They are light body color Tahitian pearls in the most wonderful colors!

So round, clean and lustrous! It will be glorious necklace when knotted.

Color is hard to catch right, especially if it's late in the day when the day light is more orange or if you are under a tungsten bulb.

Faboo! What you need to do is stand with a window behind you, but your body blocking the direct light so that it has to come around the sides of your body to reach the pearls, which should be right in front of you. See if that helps when you get a chance.

A pair of earrings I made to go with: Just noticed that the earrings are reflecting my RED dining room walls...the pearls really aren't pink, but rather an icy blue.

Also, I just had to order some blossom findings in white gold from PP....I absolutely ADORE that setting!

Those are beautiful ! Are they from the Blue collection or the Light group? I got some of the light drops and circles and the darks..and the peacocks to test the waters early on.. they are all lovely..but I do love the silvery ones and the bluey ones... Delishhh ! John would sympathise with your DH lol

Gemgeek, thank you for the tip on shooting pearls I will try it too. I can never take good photos of pearls and keep trying different places around the house, but always put them near a window without blocking the light. I've even tried our downstairs deck but the pearls still capture the sky from the sides and the trees make them look more green. It has me wondering if a light box is needed.

Thanks everyone, these are round light mix pearls. The darkest colors are still very light and several of the pearls are a beautiful dreamy white.

I no longer have time to set up a light box plus I'm sure my son will wreck the set up anyway so nowadays I just pull down my blinds and take photos in my living room. Above is a pic of the corner where I usually photograph pearls now. I usually sit on the chair and place the pearls in the pp paper box cover, then either hold the cover in one hand while trying to snap the pics with the other hand, or balance the cover on my lap, or place the cover on my nearby sofa.

I do find that the pearls look better when I take them during the day when there is sufficient light. If I try to take pics in the morning or evening when the light is weaker, then usually the pics are too dark. Think it's probably cos the blinds block out most of the light so I really need stronger daylight. In the past when I used a light tent, it was the opposite cos the light tent allowed more light to pass thru.

Oh ya and I use an iPhone for all my pics.
