I find new age designers often use low quality pearls such as bleached FW pearls to compliment their designs. On the other hand, vendors that specialise in pearls are usually not makers/designers hence mass produced generic findings are used with their pearls. In the few situations where designs and high quality pearls are combined the price is normally through the roof, making them affordable only to the older and more established demographics. I guess this is one of the big reasons younger generation only know low quality or grandma pearls

I use pearls. Lately, I've been liking diamonds and other jewelry more. My parents' wedding anniversary is coming up. I'm thinking about a gift. I want to give my mom a pearl necklace and my dad a diamante cross. I see that it's fashionable to wear mens diamond cross now. Do you think they would like such a gift? Pearls have always been in demand in the market, but diamonds are expensive, and not everyone can afford to buy them.

I'm thinking of giving a cross like this. I think he would like it, but it was quite expensive. Black pearl is not a bad option, you can think about it. Thank you for the advice. He does have a watch and a couple of bracelets. He also likes crosses. That's why I decided to give him a cross.

I like the "Ankh" shape of the item. But too much bling there for me. It depends entirely on personal taste. Maybe he would enjoy one without diamonds, plainer.
I would have gotten my dad a Carved Tahitian Pearl pendant (with a horse carved into it) if he had worn any kind of jewelry.
