I went to the gem show in Dallas today. As I suspected, the show was fairly small as it is prior to Tucson. However, small didn't stop me from finding my usual dealers and buying some strands. I bought two South Sea and one FW strand.
In the picture of three strands, the left strand is SS 13-15.1, the center strands is a circled SS, and the third strand the smallest is 12-14. Yes, I still like my pearls big. The second picture shows the large SS and the FF strand together. Please forgive the poor pictures. It is the dearest day in big D with rain, as a result I photographed in my utility room under fluorescents and the pearls are not creamy but much whiter.

Thank you everyone. Now I have to get to work with my very rudimentary knotting skills!

Beautiful. What are you going to do with them? A double strand necklace?

Luvglitz, new pearls look fab! All the best with the knotting!
Pattye, I was so pleased that I had I ivory Beaders Secret in my stash and even extra needles so I can start to work on them immediately.!

Look pretty good ! What's the plan ? Rope ? I'm assuming that's why you got 3 :)
I think with the smaller circled SS I will make a tin cup so I can make a longer strand. The other two I will make into two necklaces so I can wear them together or separately.

The only shocking fact (at least to me) is how the better FW Chinese pearls have increased in price. Ming or Edison quality strands that were round and rather smooth were at least double. The quality has improved too. I also saw some soufflés that were huge but not colorful. I am wondering what prices will be in Tucson?
