I have a ton of Filipino pearls

Hi there,

My mother is from the Philippines, and I recently inherited a ton of pearls she hoarded. These were all from the 1940s to 1980s purchased in the Philippines. I have no idea what to do with them . Can anyone give me an idea of what I have? Are they south sea pearls?

I must admit it was kind of fun to pile them all on my table

The are real pearls, but they weren't grown in the Philippines. They are originally from China. They are cultured Chinese freshwater pearls.

Also they are not that old! Thsie are from the 2000s.

Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I find the metallic luster on earrings like this super flattering on! Hope you try them on....well, if you can look past your first impression .

I'm sorry to hear your Mother passed. These earrings are bead nucleated freshwater with metallic shine, a more current purchase.
Pearls are very popular now and the pretty necklaces don't show stretched thread or much wear at all. The large dark pearls could be removed from the wire and knotted for a more classic look.
The strand of all golden pearls is interesting; could you post a photo of them separately?
