"Love is Friendship on Fire", that's a wonderful saying. In his case though, it would be more like he "Loves to set Fire to Friendship"

I think that's actually the closest thing to pearls that humans can produce. Or maybe parotid duct stones - those are about the right size too ...

Besides, the parotid duct stones wouldn't have a protective function, or would they? (imagining that the calcification process in the first case had one: to make a harmful foreign body palatable for the living organism around it, at least for a while).
