Okay, Since I have not played in a while I will take a stab at these

Lets see the pearl with the crown is the hope pearl, 450 carats???

Second one is a toss up either the Pearl of Kuwait but it could also be La Peregrina, owned By Dame Elizabeth Taylor once owned by Queen Mary given to her from king Phillip of Spain as a wedding present 50 carats

The last two pictures are of the pearl of Asia approx 600 carats

Hope I am close Great Pictures

I am bummed I have no takers

Hi Ash,

It takes me awhile to think--the teeth make me think it is some kind of hairpiece, the orangy stones could be coral, or carnelian, prefer coral, however, perhaps Spanish??

I second the hairpiece idea. Any possibility those are conch pearls?

Hi Ashley, very interesting pearls but I don't havea clue.

Instead I am answering Cliclasps last set of pictures.

It's up to you to give the answer of :
- What's their name
- How big they are
- and as many info as you like to

Enjoy again ;)

The one on the left is the Pearl of Kuwait 64.4 carats. LINK to GIA Photo

the bottom two show both sides of the pearl of Asia.
The pearl weighs 2,400 grains (600 carats) and measures 76 x 50 x 28 mm. The enormous size makes it the most famous natural pearls originated from the Persian Gulf.

What is its name and size?

Who did Cartier sell it to? And when?
Clue, I put up info about it last October.

I *think* it was part of the Spanish crown jewels and later Elizabeth Taylor owned it. Maybe she still does?

Well the hairpiece guess is correct the Red stones are believe it of not Rubies. However It is actually a Chinese hairpiece from arround
12th -13th Century

Hmmm I will have to think on the next piece.

cheers
Ash

Caitlin,
you are perfectly right in identifying the 4 pictures
Photos were taken at Paris Pearl exhibition in 2007
To add something about the Asian pearl that I did not see yet :
the stones behind the pearl were indicated being pink quartz and jade

That was La Peregrina. I said Pelegrina. It is also spelled as Pellegrina.

I think this is Art Deco and should be from after the WW I. As to what it is - could be a brooch, a buckle or a stomacher. Lovely piece!
