Help with this pin please!

Thanks for the PDF link, GemGeek-- I'm emailing it to hubby. He's only made jewelry for us so far, but if he ever makes to sell, this will be important information to have.

Rules. I initially learned about it (back in the dark ages) when I did commissioned work for a jeweler. He didn't put marks on any of the custom jewelry because he didn't want to bother with the trademark and having the stamps made. I was surprised that anyone would buy a gold ring that didn't have a stamp.

Thank you, pearlescence, for the pedantic post, pity there aren't a few more 'pedantics' around! I'm interested in flatware and am constantly amazed at what people refer to as 'silver' when it is not even EPNS, just a silver colour.
Was also most interested to hear about snufflepig's problems, thank you for the off topic information!
Back to the topic - what a beautiful pearl, love the way it sits happily in it's little 'leaf'.
