Help with this Mikimoto strand!

I'm new to this forum. I'm thinking of buying this strand from ebay, any help would be appreciated. Please tell me if you think this strand is authentic Mikimoto and if its AA quality and worth the price.

Hello Nishaj,

Welcome! I'd hope some documentation would come with the necklace. From a quick look I don't see red flags that would indicate the items sold in the store are not authentic Mikimoto. That said, there is NO way to tell for certain what the grade is from a photo, or that the pearls are Mikimoto and only you can decide if you feel it is worth the price. I forgot to notice if the seller has a return policy, rather important.

There are many beautiful akoya necklaces out there. You pay a lot for the brand. You might want to look at some of the vendors who are active on this site. I know one of our members sells high quality natural pearls on eBay and is completely trustworthy but personally the idea of buying something that expensive on eBay scares me.

Up to you - for a bit less money (not much less) you could get a brand new hanadama akoya necklace the same size pearls and same length. Hanadama means the pearls are certified in Japan as being among the top few % of akoya pearls:

If you want Mikimoto, that is a good price. I have seen similar pre-owned pieces go for a lot more than that.
