These are listed as “ cultured “ though not sure about saltwater or fresh .. or even if they are real. They feel nice, good weight 13mm , interesting color, gritty tooth feel ..
but the mottling ..scale.. hammered undertone is something I just don’t know about. Curious what others think.
Thanks

The color and shapes seem characteristic of cultured freshwater pearls. These would be bead nucleated. I'm not positive, but seem to recall that that type of texture can happen with thick nacre. Of course, we are pretty familiar with the rippled textures of the Chinese "Kasumi like" pearls. Some might prefer a smoother texture, but this strand looks like a very nice quality with excellent lustre. Is this a strand you are seeing in person, or are the photos from the seller?

Thanks for the replies. I bought them on approval . They are part of a set with an 18k clasp. Not sure if I wanted freshwater but the colors and luster are pretty amazing. Tomorrow I’ll try to get a better photo of the mottling. It’s almost an “under current” of pattern ..which made me wonder if there were genuine. They all do seem to be different though.

Beautiful luster. I'd love to see a onoto of the whole strand. I doubt you would find faux pearls with an 18k clasp.

That's a really interesting clasp. I love it. It took me a while to warm up to ripple surface pearls, but now I love them. The nacre is thick and the luster and color is amazing. These are gorgeous pearls.

Thanks! Still warming up to the idea of freshwater as these will be my first . Pearls are so addicting as we all know ..

This is a beautiful strand! The unigue clasp & texture of the pearls give it such personality. The luster is wonderful!

They look lovely, enjoy wearing them and don't forget the neck shot!

Update on interchangeable strand

Update on interchangeable strand

Finally .. Here is a photo of the tourmaline strand to use with the interchangeable clasp. From my research I think the clasp might be made by Marcel Roelof ( Dutch ) . I took it to a jeweler and they loved the 18k clasp with diamonds. It’s worth more than the pearls and the tourmaline strand, though those are beautiful as well. My jeweler works with these “ Vario “ clasps so I can create other strands to work with the gold clasp. Thanks for the comments about the pearls. They do have a beautiful glow.

Both the pearls and the tourmalines are fantastic ... the clasp is incredible! How wonderful that your jeweler can make other strands to work with that clasp!!!
