Just arrived in Madrid with the GSS 10mm 22K YG earrings below purchased from Carolyn/Druzy. These were the second attempt at matching the 12/13mm GSS pendant purchased in Singapore for my wife's mother in Fall of 2006. Still, you never know until you put them together.

Wife's mom is pleased!

Gorgeous gorgeous!!! Well done Steve!! From my monitor, the earrings seem to have a bit deeper golden color.

I do adore Carolyn's GSS pearls.

I wish other vendors here offered more affordable GSS pieces such as tin up style or GSS on a chain like this.

Yes it's true, the earrings are intensely colored. But the pendant's larger size, slightly superior luster and generous bale seem to bring everything into acceptable balance.

Steve, the GSS are stunning. One of my absolute favourites. Both your pieces are gorgeous - I love the creamy pink (so it seems on my monitor) of the pendant - very elegant!

Spaceneedle - wow, what a fabulous necklace! Now THAT I could wear anytime - who is it by? I agree, whole strands are just prohibitively expensive for most of us! Thanks for the pic!

Oh, Steve,

Those make a lovely complimentary set! Sometimes, to me, that is more interesting than pearls which match perfectly. Guess that is why I am such a fan of baroque.

Enjoy your travels, too, and Hello to Almudena!

Steve - May I ask from where in Singapore you acquired the pendant?

Nerida - I purchased a GSS bracelet from DruzyDesign. Jennifer Cross at PP kindly put the pearls on a PP's Solara chain for me. I believe this chain allows the pearls to be removable. I plan to save up and purchase a few more bracelets (Deep lavender/purple Freshadama, Sea of Cortez, and Kasumi) and use the same chain.

Great idea!!! Gives me plenty of excuse to get more loose pearls ...

Hi spaceneedle - great idea - looks great, more contemporary feel than a full strand, at 1/2 the price, and the thought of buying some of your other favourite pearls to swap them around is fantastic!

Steve,

are the pearls natural coloured or treated, do you think? They are lovely anyway.

SpaceNeedle: lovely pearls, good idea being able to change...

Nice to 'see' all of you here!

Re color: The large pearl in the pendant shows no pink in person, it is 'champagne' helped along towards gold by the bale and heavy chain. Of course we all know the earrings are natural color, coming from Carolyn's fruitful trip to Lombok/Indonesia early this year.

Singapore: It was a specialty pearl dealer in the mall next to the Ritz-Carlton (where we were doing a wine promotion), Japanese name started with an 'S' but will need to view the receipt. Almudena also got a beautiful pair of 9mm GSS YG/Diamond earrings with the pearls as enhancers?what wonderful taste she had, even though I had no idea at the time! Worth a picture (will post on return home along with jeweler's name).

SpaceNeedle: Thee necklace from the bracelet is a great idea (great pearls, by the way), and reminds me of Pattye's suggestion for our Cook Islands keshi bracelet over on that thread.

Off to 'work' (Spanish wines, of course!).

Solara chain - it sounds like a must have. See, I'm in trouble already! The pearls are just beautiful.

The mm size on the chain is either 1.0mm or 1.5mm. So the drill holes would need to be just slightly larger than that, not 8mm or 5mm! That is a lovely chain, yes, I am pearl-lusting also!! I guess with that chain one of the end caps much screw off to allow one to change out the pearls. A very cool idea!

Looking back at Spaceneedle's necklace again, I am guessing it is the 1.0mm chain.

Jennifer told me that the chain was a smaller size chain but did not say the specific size. Now I'm curious. I just emailed her and will post back her reply.

And yes, Jennifer put together some spacers for me since the original spacers from DruzyDesign would not fit the chain.
