Klonks = pearls large enough to make a "klonk" sound when bumping against each other. It used to be 12mm and over, by actual measure, which means by today's Chinese selling measure in CFWP, they are 13.8 mm and over.
Klanks = 7-11mm or so
klinks = 6mm and under

Crimping pliers = Special pliers to crimp crimp beads. They have two slots. The first crimps the crimp bead into a "C" shape. The second slot crimps the end of the c together to make an extremy tight crimp on the wire. An indispensible tool for beading with wire.

If klonks are 12mm up and klanks are 10mm below, what do you call 11mms? Klonkettes? LOL (Laughing Out Loud).

What a great thread. I remember being mystified the first time I saw PPBs. I had to ask because I hadn't come across the "official" glossary.

It's convenient to know that I'm a NCN!;)

GIMP: AKA French Wire, Bullion. This is the teeny tiny coil of wire which is placed on high-end strands, usually to protect silk from the abrasion of the jump ring which attaches the strand to the clasp. Many people use gimp with other stringing materials as well to give the piece a more finished look.
