Wondering if they are worth bringing to a jeweler for appraisal?

Welcome, Freshpeachez! You've found a strand of dyed "peacock" cultured pearls from China. They don't have a high enough value to appraise, but a long length like this can be very versatile and fun to wear. The luster is good and the 2nd photo shows the pretty overtones. Enjoy!

Thank you! I’m just getting into pearls and know next to nothing other than how to tell genuine from fake. I look forward to learning more about how to discern the types (fresh or salt, cultured or not) and where they came from.
I love hunting around thrift stores for hidden pearly treasures and I’ve found three other strands so far, none as long as these though!

The good news is, as you learn more and more, you'll be more experienced at finding really cool things at thrift stores. I wish I had more time to comb thrift stores...because there are truly some remarkable finds there. Children often don't know what is valuable and what is costume when donating a deceased parent's items after they depart. Parents need to be BETTER about keeping some sort of history, at least on their more valuable items. I've had to go through 2 estates (mom-in-law and mother's) jewelry and it is a time-consuming process to make sure I wasn't donating something that was, in fact, of value beyond an item's sentimental value.
Have fun searching!

I had the same issues with 2 estates too. What I find so funny is thrift stores/estate sales/church sales.... I have seem so many marked (Marvella, etc) faux pearls that were priced high ($30-50), while older genuine pearls tossed in the $5 bin because they did not have a hang tag or weren't the style the sellers thought was "nice."
