First Day of June, the Month of the Pearl!

Amti - oh, the blues! I say it again, blues are my favorite.

Newberry - your collection never fails to inspire awe!

ETA - MSC - I am a supporter of elephant causes, too (funny how as pearl lovers we also have other things in common). I grew up loving an elephant named Shirley at our local zoo who got moved to the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee. There was a whole documentary done about her and her renewed friendship at that sanctuary with another elephant that used to be in a circus with her. I don't think these two elephants had seen each other in 20 or 30 years maybe? Such an adorable story!!

Hahahah, Newberry. I scrolled to the first photo, and thought, "Yes, that's the one."

Then I scrolled down further, and thought, "No wait, maybe it was that one? No wait, that one. Wait, there's more?"

But basically, most of your tin-cups with the larger links for chains really appealed to me, more than the tin cups with the fine chains.

I know that the original tin-cup (from the movie Tin Cup) was strung just on thread so it looked like the pearls were floating, but I like the look of the chunky gold links better.

Thanks for posting them all. You have a beautiful collection.

I'm thinking of the one with the big gold links, as opposed to a fine chain between the pearls. But they were all gorgeous, and pretty major!

The WSS or Tahitian tin cup? Newberry has more than one long tin cup with big gold links, lol. I have pics I can add later.

Never mind, I see Newberry already posted pics.

Jersey Pearl - Congrats to your son !! A great job !!! How wonderful for him and I know you guys are thrilled for him. It's such a relief when they get that first 'real' job and you know that they are on their way !! I'm so happy for you !

MSC - I love that pendant ...and I so totally forgot about those little diamond stick in things! I just finished working out a new order..now I have to go back and add to it !! You did a great job refurbishing that pearl..it looks wonderful !

Newberry - Just WOW when you see them all lined up like that lol So MANY gorgeous Tin Cups !!!

Amti - love the Blue and Whites !!

Lary7- I love the elephant story ! I'll bet they remembered each other !

Thanks, Kat! Those plug things are pretty cool. I've seen some designers make their own custom pearl plugs in metals and I love the look (one makes barnacles and another flowers).

Amti those strands are just spectacular, the blues are so vibrant! I love how you reworked them. Each necklace is beautiful in it's own way. Those Tahitians are so blue I thought they were akoyas at first!

Lary - it's too bad the elephant sanctuary is closed to the public; I'd love to go visit.

Newberry those tincups are some serious inspiration!!! Thank you for sharing!

I've been tremendously lazy about wearing pearls the last couple of days... I'll try to wear something today and remember to take photos ;)

MSC, this was such a great idea for a thread. I have enjoyed seeing more of your lovely collection.

I've been wearing pearls, at least earrings, every day, but I never seem to remember to take pictures before I take them off.

Oh how I would LOVE that...our son though, leaves for Japan that weekend...so I am not able to attend. He'll be gone for at least a year, maybe two. He is going to teach English in a village outside of Nagasaki. He speaks Japanese and is super excited. My husband and I are super excited he has a job!

Congratulation! It's a thrill when the kids start the journey toward independence! By the way, I lived in Japan for 3 years! It was one of the best experiences of my life! I absolutely loved it there (and I taught English as well) :)

Thank you, Kay! I'm pretty terrible about remembering to take a photo too. I don't think I could do a 365 thread like BN or BAS. Talk about commitment!

This morning I wore just a bracelet, but it didn't stay on long. Just long enough for the daily dog walk. It's so so hot out!
Mom's large krispie pearl bracelet; it's part of a set with the necklace. They both need to be restrung at some point.

After the walk, I made Mom and her twin sister bday gifts (their bday isn't till the end of July, but I'll be busy with alligator work. better safe than sorry.); Mom's is the white pearl one. Since Mom dispersed all of her good jewelry to me and my sister before the live-in care taker came on board, I've been trying to make Mom lots of fun jewelry to play with.

 Truthfully that about half of the tin cups.

Thank you all for the kind comments. I find I like this style because it is less formal than just a strand up close to the neck. With them being longer I can just look down and enjoy seeing my pearls rather than looking into every mirror I pass :)

Beautiful necklaces MSC, love the fun shapes and colours.

Fun necklaces. I love how side drilled drops work when strung.

Thanks, Sanippy and BWeaves! I'm going to make Mom an extra necklace of all amethyst and maybe a bracelet too :)

I made something for myself last night too... I was waiting till I could pick up the rose gold and diamond bead cap and enhancer bail I wanted for this project, but that will be a while, so I decided to get creative. I had this yellow gold dog clasp from an old watch chain and thought it would work great for this project. And it did! So, even though this is not the final version, at least I can wear my pearls in the meantime :) I used tiny Pteria sterna for the loops, but the large pearl drop is a SoC keshi. I was going to make matching earrings, but I didn't realize how many of the pearls the pendant would require! I didn't realize one of the loops was a but misshapen till after I took the photos; that's been corrected.

OH, what a cool pendant. That's a beautiful way to show off small pearls.
