Fiji Pearls

Thank you for the additional photos of my bracelets, lmgarden. It is totally awesome to see them next to their inspiration.

I love your new project. Are those Bohemian garnets? They are extra red, sort of a purple-red, and not brown-red, like more recently mined garnets. When we were in Prague a couple of years ago, I went to a lot of antique shops, and you could easily see the difference. They were pretty common about a century ago, and you can still find lots of older jewelry with Bohemian garnets today.

In any case, those necklaces are going to be stunning.

Yes, those are indeed bohemian garnets. My dad found them in his travels and gave them to me years ago. I wore them so much that the string wore through - luckily I didn't loose any.
I can't wait to see the wrist shots of your lovely bracelets - you'll receive them very soon!

Thank you, JulieBeth. I really can't wait to hear all about your future trip, the amazing time you'll have and the goodies you'll return with!

Thank you Perlas. I enjoyed taking a family shot of so much beauty!

Love the pictures on the shells, you'll never get bored looking at the bracelet. I love the colourful pearls.

I can't get enough of these Fiji pearls! The colours are spectacular.

Gasp!!! Love the soon to be necklace(s)!!! I cannot wait to see them! What will you be stringing them on? Those fiji pearls have such amazing colors!

The Fiji bracelet is here, and the colors are completely stunning. I've tried to capture the vibrant colors of each pearl to show why it was chosen for this piece. There are no "filler" pearls here.

Many thanks to all for your wonderful compliments. I am such a Fiji pearl fan.

The colors are a bit washed out looking to me on the wrist shots. I'll follow with some more photos that show some of the multiple colors in each pearl.

And, because this oak leaf fell on the table as I was photographing the bracelet, it gets to be in a couple of pictures.

Oh Red, how absolutely beautiful! Your bracelet looks so lovely on you - you wear it so well! Having seen it first hand, I can say it's truly a stunner! You'll be gazing at it every chance you can get!

Thank you, lmgarden. This is all your fault, you know. :D. You kept posting photos of your Fiji bracelets, and I had to find out if there were enough pearls left to make one of my own. Fortunately, there were.

And, yes, the Fiji colors are so vibrant in my Northern US light. These pearls are less picky about lighting than many of my Tahitians. I was telling Jeremy that with nearly six months of low winter or indoor light where I live, many of my strands look grey most of the time. These Fijians are much more perky and fun to look at.

Red, your new bracelet is incredibly beautiful! I would have been sure there were no more really colorful Fiji pearls left after the Ruckus ... how wrong I was LOL ... Your 2 bracelets are so different, and so gorgeous ... well done :)

lmgarden, can't wait to see that Fiji-garnet project ... that's going to be another showstopper!

Red your bracelet is just TDF!!!!!! The colors are beautiful. I bet this will be a go to especially when you need a bit of a pick-me-up.

Red - my goodness that is gorgeous! And wonderful photos...the leaf brings out the fall colours ! Interesting comment about the light up north ..I assumed it would be favourable to pearls. Here in South Australia the light is so harsh , no moisture in the air , that it seems to wash out all the colours. But pleased to hear that the Figi hold up in the light ! They are such unusual colours ..I feel like I should have some ....hmmmmm

I think your new bracelet is stunning !

Stunning red! I love the earthy colours and multitoned pearls.
