Etsy

yay Mervione!

I really like that pendant.

I like Etsy--been having fun browsing since you ladies have turned me onto it. It's a swell spot.:) It's great that you have a place to sell your wares. I like the design of the site.

Thanks everyone!

I have figured that I really like Etsy too, Kay. It?s really nice just to look around, there?s so many talented people out there! I wish I could knit...

Just a short update to how things are going. Made this enhancer today and I?m quite pleased with it. Just listed it on Etsy, will see how it goes... I believe in putting lots of stuff up for some reason, guess that?s because it?s more likely that people will buy if I have lots to choose from.

Oh, and a proper picture from the pendant I posted the other day:

Congratulations! You have some of the prettiest needles in the Etsy haystack. I hope you sell more soon. :)

Check this out (in the next 2 days). http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=11122 I grabbed a "treasury" page on Etsy where you get to feature some items, not you own though. :( But I did get Mervione & Pattye on. Sorry to others that have etsy shops, if you do. I was scrambling and they were the ones I knew had shops and what they were called. Check it out and add a comment so we know you were there!

Sheryl,

How nice! I didn't know there was such a thing! I see Mervione's enhancer, but didn't find any of my pieces, I will have to figure out how that "Treasury" works! Appreciate the thought very much!

Thanks much, Cheryl, that is soooooo kind of you! I will have to read up on some of the other features on etsy, have had a lot of distractions this month----
I love your title for the treasury------

Thanks a lot Sheryl! Much appreciated.

Anyway. I finally got my first feedback! (Positive, duh.) It doesn?t really matter much right now since I?ve taken a break in being very serious about my beading because I want to focus more on silver/goldsmithing, but I?m sure it?ll be handy for the future.

Remember when I talked about that person on eBay that didn?t leave feedback to me? And that didn?t even reply to my 2 (3? Lost count.) messages to her on eBay. (They were polite as well, I should add!) I found her e mail adress. Think it might be a good idea to mail using proper e mail or should I just leave it? I think it?s really rude to sellers not to leave feedback... Especially if the seller is all new and did everything correct, since the feedback means a lot for newbies. Sigh.

Hi Mervione,

I think lots of people just forget about the feedback part, and are not being rude at all, as it is optional. I know it means a lot to us sellers, but I think they are just happy with their purchase, at least hopefully, and go on with their busy lives-----when I used to receive a purchase, there was often a note asking me to please leave feedback, so that might be something for us to try? But there is no way to make someone do it. It can also be that the buyer is new too, and learning about the whole process. It certainly is up to you if you want to try to email her again.

Mervione, I understand how you feel about the feedback, but I don't think it would be "right" to email her at her other address... I think it is like Pattye says - there is no ill intent on your buyer's part, just caught up in life like we all get sometimes. I think the note in the package is a great idea - I have had several sellers do that with me, and I have always left feedback.

Sheryl, I love the collection of beautiful pieces on the Etsy "treasury" page - pattye's work is lovely, as is Mervione's - and the other pieces you have listed are all gorgeous! I love the sapphire and pearl earrings especially - do we know this designer??

I don't. I chose them all by searching "pearl" and started with the highest listed items first to try and avoid the fake pearls. I picked things I liked, and of course Pattye and Mervione would have made the list even if I didn't know them. The earrings are awesome, I love that gold wire work. There is a Sapphire ring on the site that I would LOVE to have. So many pretty things, and I have to learn to make them all!

The buyer isn?t new to eBay at all, she/he/it have almost 300 in feedbacks...

It?s fine if she/he/it don?t want to leave feedback, but why don?t she reply to my messages? If it?s not rude then it?s just plain weird.

Mervione,
I'd be careful re. asking the buyer to leave feedback if I were you.
I've seen quite a few red dots (negatives) in seller's feedback with the comment "here's the feedback you pestered me for".

I guess I?ll just leave it, it?s probably for the best. I can?t defend myself in any way if she/he/it give me negative feedback, because sadly you can?t leave negative feedback to a buyer on eBay anymore.

Wow! As soon as it starts raining here, I can quit pulling weeds, and come play on the computer again! That is a difficult thing to do, Cheryl,--get a treasury going! thanks much for including me on this one also! It is fun looking at others' pearly creations for sure!

I want to make a treasury myself now. But my boyfriend says that there is a limit of 333 treasurys. It?s more than 500 up now though. I think I?ll leave it to him to find out exactly how it works.
