I was browsing (I swear, I was only looking…)
There’s nothing in this listing to suggest that they’re naturals and I’m probably way off here, but …could they be? They are not listed as naturals and I’m not really buying anyway, just browsing. And curious. Ruby , diamond and platinum clasp. I’d love a strand of natural pearls so I’m just double checking here for confirmation that this is not that strand. You know, before my second glass of wine starts to whisper that they might be…

I was very tempted! It sold for way over what my maximum bid would have been, probably for that clasp alone

I'm thinking likely the ruby was synthetic (lab grown corundum).

I agree about the ruby. Even though monitors differ, the color did not look right and it was normal for synthetic sapphires and synthetic rubies to be placed on antique jewelry.

I thought so too - synthetic rubies and sapphires were used a lot and well-regarded round any the time I think this was created.
