Hello I have this set of earrings that have one big Pearl on them they are gritty on the teeth and together very smooth to the touch. They are odd shaped and a little over a half inch in size there color are white very shiny and have like an Opal shimmer to them. Any ideas? Let me know if you need more pics thanks

They appear to be operculum. Not sure from what species though.

Those look like pieces of shell, or mother of pearl, cut from near the hinge. They are often used in jewelry, left the natural color like yours, or often dyed. Enjoy your earrings!

My first thought was the same as Pattye's. In fact, somewhere around here, I have some dyed shell beads exactly as described.
