I've been tussling for a while to come up with the right word to describe the particular sort of nacre that is very thick, very lustrous (prob metallic) and looks sort of oozy, maybe with wrinkles. The sort you get on keishi etc..which looks a bit like the skin on custard? You know the sort, looks like it was ladled on and is a very thick liquid.
Custard skin nacre is descriptive but not exactly high end couture!
Suggestions anyone?

How bout dripping with nacre? Like a strawberry dipped in dark chocolate???

good descriptors Marianne but not really one word suitable for a product description....
(and doesn't dripping sound thinner than oozing)
it's tricky

High viscosity nacre or
Frozen viscosity nacre?

Icing pearls? Frosting pearls? Fondue pearls?

Yeah, I have to vote "no" on viscous. Too close to vicious. Picture snarling, snapping pearl-dogs (somehow these pearl-dogs are snarling "Yarrrrr")... Yummy food analogies are more fun (says I, with my post-holiday pounds wagging on my behind).

In my job, oozing just brings up visions of yucky... I like molten though :)

I agree lisa about viscous. While the word is right, it is too close to vicious.
I think molten it is, I'll use it from now on and hope that others will too
